We are taking a break on postnatal courses due to relocation at the end of the year. Watch this space!

Postnatal Strength and Rehab

We run two postnatal courses - Postnatal Strength and Rehab (Level 1) and Postnatal Progressions (Level 2).

Postnatal Strength and Rehab - Level 1

Join us for this 6-week strength and rehab course for pre and postnatal clients, available in our fully equipped studio and designed to cater to all of your exercise and rehab needs.

Our classes offer a strong focus on pelvic floor health, abdominal rehab and breath work as well as rebuilding full body, functional strength. Options will be given throughout to accommodate wherever you are in your postnatal rehab journey. Babies are very welcome at all classes but not required!

We run two courses at the same time - Tuesdays at 1030am and Thursdays at 1030am. We understand that the postnatal period can be unpredictable, and for this reason are happy to offer a maximum of 2 ‘make up’ sessions within any one course. For example, if you miss a Tuesday session you can attend a Thursday session to make up the missed class.

Sign up to the course also includes access to an on demand postnatal class recording, to be done at home in between sessions.

This course is suitable from post 6 weeks vaginal birth and 12 weeks post Caesarian birth, following a 6 week GP check and being cleared for exercise.

The course is suitable for prenatal clients too - contact us to discuss suitability.

Sessions include:

  • Pelvic floor and abdominal rehab

  • Postural correction and joint mobility

  • Core Strength

  • Functional strength training

All of our instructors are highly experienced with specialist pre/postnatal qualifications and fully understand the mental and physical demands of motherhood. We will meet you wherever you’re at (and we know this can change from day to day!) and help you work at a pace that will serve your body as you regain your strength and fitness in a safe and welcoming environment.

These courses fill up quickly, so early booking is advisable to secure your place.

Postnatal Progressions - Level 2

Join us for this 6 week course postnatal Level 2 course. This course is designed as a progression for those who have completed our postnatal strength and rehab course, or those who have already returned to training and developed some strength foundations.

There is a continued focus on abdominal rehab, mobility and breath work, as well as incorporating more single leg, dynamic, and return to impact work. The course is progressive in nature, with options given throughout to accommodate wherever you are in your postnatal rehab journey.

This course is suitable from post 12 weeks vaginal birth and 18 weeks post Caesarian birth, following a 6 week GP check and being cleared for exercise. Each sign up includes access to an on demand prenatal workout class via our booking system. Babies are very welcome but not required!

We understand that the postnatal period can be unpredictable, and are happy to offer a maximum of 2 make up sessions during the course, by way of attending one of the Tuesday or Thursday Level 1 classes during the same 6 week period you have signed up for. Parents are responsible for their babies at all times.

I’ve been coming to the postnatal classes at Move Strong for a while
now, and I am starting to feel much stronger! I love how they help you tailor the class to your own needs and ability, and I can take it at a good pace that’s manageable for me. My little one always seems to enjoy it as well! You can have a little break and feed your baby whenever you need to, and it’s a really welcoming environment.
In Rowena, I have found a personal trainer who is technically competent, widely experienced and possessor of loads of emotional intelligence. The latter is very important to me: I wanted to work with someone who understood my fitness goals, but also all my life ambitions and challenges.
